PRODUCTION EFFECTS ADVISORY

The Public Theater does offer production effect warnings whenever possible, but significantly when these effects may negatively affect or harm patrons with disabilities. If you have specific questions about production effects for a production you are attending, please email us at info@publictheater.org for assistance, and we will be happy to answer all of your questions. Joe's Pub does its best to share this information before its events and apologizes in advance for any missed communication regarding production effects. These warnings may include, but are not limited to:

  • Strobing lights
  • Flashes of light
  • Smoke
  • Fog
  • Haze
  • Smoking of any kind
  • Loud sounds or music
  • Extended periods of loud sounds or music
  • Smells or scents introduced into the audience area
  • Gunshots

The Public Theater and Joe's Pub do our best to honor our artists' intent regarding their work. It remains true that our community's heartbeat is shared moments of creating or experiencing theater and live events together. While it is impossible to account for all potential content triggers, including smells or sounds that recall a past trauma, we list production-specific content warnings on each production web page, and they are accessible by hovering over a link that reads:
