WHAT ARE DIGITAL TICKETS? 

Digital Tickets are secure, contactless digital tickets that use dynamic QR codes and allows The Public to minimize personal interaction, keep employees and patrons safe, simplify queue management, and allow staggered and timed entry to some performances and events. The Public's Digital Tickets are offered through our partnership with True Tickets. 

WHY IS THE PUBLIC THEATER USING DIGITAL TICKETS? 

Our Digital Tickets dynamic QR code feature helps prevent fraudulent tickets from appearing on third-party websites. You will continue to buy tickets through the interface you are familiar with (our website, call center, and in-person box offices), but then you will access your Digital Tickets at wallet.publictheater.org.

WHAT HAPPENED TO PRINT AT HOME AND ELECTRONIC TICKETS?

We study our Print at Home Tickets and found that the usage was so low that it was time to retire the service. Electronic Ticket usage was high but not secure and led to our tickets being sold on secondary markets and sometimes resold to multiple parties, which led to issues at our venues and disappointed guests. We needed to find something with the ease of use of Electronic Tickets, but more secure, which led us to True Tickets. 

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DIGITAL TICKETS?

  • Ease of use - login, show, go.
  • Secure - impossible to lose and hard to steal
  • Safe - reduced physical contact
  • Good - for the environment

WHY IS THE QR CODE DYNAMIC?

A dynamic QR Code indicates that you have an authentic ticket that has not been duplicated and is not fraudulent.  The dynamic QR Code assists our staff in checking for validity as the "tt" in the center of the code is constantly rotating. This also means that you cannot take a screenshot of the QR Code as a screenshot will be deemed invalid by our ticket scanners.

IT'S THE DAY OF THE PERFORMANCE, AND I SEE MY TICKETS WITH SEAT LOCATIONS BUT NOT THE QR CODE; WHY?

As an additional security feature of our Digital Tickets, QR Codes are not available to view until one hour before the scheduled curtain.

IT'S THE DAY OF THE PERFORMANCE, AND I SEE MY TICKETS, BUT NOT SEAT LOCATIONS OR A QR CODE; WHY?

Most likely, it is because you are attending a Special Event hosted by our Development Department, who work diligently to cultivate their seating assignments to encourage new relationships between our Partners, Supporters, Staff, and Artists. Your QR Codes and Seat Locations will be available one hour before the scheduled curtain.  

DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD AN APP TO GET MY DIGITAL TICKETS?

No, our Digital Ticket delivery does not require you to download an app; your tickets are available in your Wallet on any web browser on any device with access to a data plan or wi-fi after logging into your Public Theater Account.

HOW DO I DISPLAY MY DIGITAL TICKETS FOR SCANNING AT THE PERFORMANCE?

Bring your smart device, a mobile phone or tablet with access to Wi-Fi or a data plan, and a web browser to your scheduled performance. Then, visit your Wallet and log in to access your tickets for the performance.  Our staff will assist you in scanning your tickets as they usually do or scan yourself at our contactless scanners at each entrance.

CAN I PRINT MY DIGITAL TICKETS AND BRING THEM WITH ME TO THE PERFORMANCE?

No, please do not attempt to print your Digital Tickets and bring them to our venues. The QR Codes are dynamic, and shortly after your print your Digital Ticket, the QR Code will change, and the one printed on the piece of paper is invalid and won't scan.

WHAT IF MY SMART DEVICE IS OUT OF POWER?

Visit our Box Offices when you arrive at the performance. We would be happy to print your traditional paper tickets for the performance.  

CAN I SHARE MY TICKETS WITH MY GROUP? 

True Tickets is currently working on ticket sharing capabilities so that that option will be available shortly; in the interim, if you had planned to offer your tickets to another guest, please email info@publictheater.org for assistance with changing your delivery method to Hold at Box Office for your guests to pick up in person at our Box Offices on the day of your scheduled performance.  

WHY CAN'T I STORE MY DIGITAL TICKETS IN APPLE OR ANDROID WALLET? 

Currently, Apple and Android wallets don’t support dynamic QR codes—which is the same for any other primary ticketing system or provider, like Ticketmaster, for example. When Apple and Android wallets start supporting dynamic QR codes, The Public and True Tickets will explore adding that feature. 

I CAN'T FIND MY EMAIL WITH THE LINK TO MY TICKETS. DO I NEED THE LINK? 

No, visit wallet.publictheater.org and log in to gain access to your digital tickets. 

I AM GETTING AN “Invalid Credentials” ERROR WHEN ATTEMPTING TO LOG IN TO GAIN ACCESS TO MY TICKETS. WHAT DO I DO? 

You have likely entered either an incorrect password, mistyped your email address or password, or attempted to use a login different from what you registered with The Public. We ask you to try again with the credentials you used to buy tickets. If this is unsuccessful, please use the "forgot password" link or reset your password here

MY DYNAMIC QR CODE DISAPPEARED AFTER IT WAS DELIVERED; WHAT DO I DO?

Refresh the webpage you are on, and the dynamic QR code will display again. 

CAN I BOOKMARK MY WALLET ON MY SMART DEVICE FOR EASY ACCESS?

Absolutely, there are multiple ways to bookmark your wallet on your smart device.

WHAT TYPE OF COMMUNICATIONS WILL BE SHARED WITH ME THROUGH MY WALLET?

Currently, we will share with you information about getting to the venue, specifics related to the performance, contact information, and if there are postponements or cancellations (as shown below). In addition, we are working with True Tickets about the further development of this new ticket delivery platform, and we are excited for what the future holds.
